Deployed Air Force Reservist Designs Logo in Kuwaiti Desert

Proceeds to go to Wounded Veterans.

CLAYTON, NC -- Air Force Reserve Tech Sgt. Robert Poole, a balding 46 year-old has an idea to help the wounded veterans at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington DC He has developed a logo for the follickly impaired. “I was jogging along one day in Kuwait and feeling pretty good about myself. I had lost 36 pounds at the time and looked down at my plain white T-Shirt while I was jogging and thought, why can’t us bald headed guys have a logo of our own?” said Poole.  Poole, an air transportation journeyman based at Pope AFB, NC with the 53rd Aerial Port Squadron immediately jotted down what he thought the logo should look like. I saw three little hairs coming off a bald head and the word BALD under it, but BALD is an acronym for BOLD ALL-AMERICAN LOVEABLE DUDE.

In Kuwait, Poole was touched deeply by the dead and wounded that he helped move back to the US for recovery or burial. It broke my heart to send those flag draped coffins back on those cargo planes but it was a detail I wanted to be on to pay my respects for those soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country,” said Poole.

“I heard the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Hospital have to buy long distance calling cards as their calls are not free. I know a lot of them recovering will be there for 3-9 months. I’d love to help them by purchasing calling cards from the proceeds of the BALD T-Shirt sales since I dreamed up the idea while I was on active duty in Kuwait,” said Poole.
